Other Tropical Species (Special Order)
Need a specific aesthetic? We can source a variety of tropical hardwoods beyond our Ipe, Cumaru, and Garapa. These species are brought in on a per-project basis and are subject to market availability. Standard lead times are typically 2–3 weeks depending on stock.

Available by Special Order
Inventory fluctuates based on what’s coming in. We’ll check with our partner mills to confirm availability and pricing at the time of your quote.
- Massaranduba: Dense, reddish-plum hardwood. Lower-cost alternative to Ipe, with slightly more movement. Ideal for field boards — not recommended for borders.
- Tigerwood: Orange base with dark striping. Very bold and high-variation — best for clients who want a statement look.
- Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry): Rich red tone and high density. Popular for interiors but performs well outside when installed properly.
- Purpleheart: Vibrant purple when fresh, ages to brown under UV. Often used in borders, benches, or accents rather than full decks.
- Yellow Balau (Bangkirai): Golden-toned hardwood, similar to Garapa. Smooth surface and good value. Subject to seasonal availability.

Design-Driven Decking Options
These species are often selected by architects or homeowners seeking a specific tone, grain pattern, or aesthetic that stands out from standard hardwoods. We recommend using them in applications where their unique look adds the most value — such as decks, borders, benches, or accent areas.
Most of these woods are only available in 1×6 or 5/4×6 decking profiles. If you need 2x4s, 4x4s, or posts for railings or structural support, we suggest pairing with Ipe for those elements. Ipe blends well and ensures long-term stability.
