Description

Eastern White Pine has been the mainstay in construction and fine woodworking that requires quality, appearance, and durability. The heartwood is a light brown, sometimes with a reddish hue, sapwood is pale yellow to nearly white. The color tends to darken with age. Eastern White Pine is very easy to work with, using both hand tools and machine tools. This lumber glues and finishes well.

At Timberline Lumber Company of Asheville, we know that quality starts with the tree. We offer higher quality because our Eastern White Pine logs come from the Connecticut River Valley of Central Vermont and New Hampshire. This region is known for growing trees which produce high quality, red knotted lumber. This is due in part to longer and more severe winters, resulting in a shorter growing season.

We also know that fine milling cannot be rushed. Quality takes time. We only work with mills that take the time and pride in fine craftsmanship on our pattern boards. They use state-of-the-art, high precision, knife grinding technology to insure a refined dressing and achieve the smoothest possible finish.

Our Eastern White Pine lumber exceeds NeLMA and industry grade and dryness standards. Our mill is recognized industry wide for grade accuracy. Boards with maximum allowable defects by the grade rules will not be included in our products.
