Description
Lodgepole Pine, so named because Native Americans used the poles of this tree for lodges. It is very attractive with small scattered knots. The heartwood is light reddish/yellowish brown, sapwood is yellowish white. Lodgepole Pine commonly has pronounced dimples on flatsawn surfaces, which is vaguely similar in overall appearance to Birdseye Maple. Lodgepole is straight grained with medium texture and works well with both hand tools, machine tools, glues, and it finishes well.
Our Lodgepole Pine mill is respected throughout the industry for its quality products. Quality starts with timber harvesters using the Forestry Best Management Practices, which comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Section 208 (Non-point pollution requirements). Our supplier is Pyramid Mountain Lumber, also known as “The Stewardship Company” for their commitment to economically and environmentally responsible/sustainable forestry practices that protect Montana’s timber, wildlife, air, soil, and water resources.
Timberline Lumber is committed to finding our where the best trees of a particular species grow, and then partnering with the best mill so that we can provide the highest quality products for our customers.
