Final member sizing, grade requirements, connections and load specifications must come from the project plans or a qualified engineer. Timberline supplies material based on the dimensions and specifications provided for the project.

Sizes and surface options

The takeoff size groups below are request options, not a stock list. Lengths, grades, and availability are confirmed with the quote. If your plans call for a custom size or length, include it in the takeoff or send the list to us.

Rough and S4S are common surface choices. Hand-hewn texture and other appearance treatments can be requested when appropriate for the project. Include the desired surface and finish in your notes so we can price it accurately.

Grades and appearance

Douglas Fir product listings include #2, Clear, Select grades. The grade depends on the selected product and dimensions. Include the grade from your plans or the product you want to match. We will confirm the grade, dimensions, and availability with your quote.

Hand-hewn texture and other appearance work can be discussed when quoting. Include a photo, drawing, or finish description if the look matters to the project.

Handling and specifications

Keep timbers and lumber protected from weather until they are installed. The project plans should establish the required moisture condition, grade, surface, connections, and handling details. We will confirm the material specifications with the quote.

Do you stock Douglas Fir in Black Mountain?

Is Doug Fir the same as Douglas Fir?

Yes. Doug Fir is the common short name for Douglas Fir. Use either name on the quote.
