We can help source specialty lumber for exposed beams, distinctive architectural details, reclaimed interiors, furniture, and custom millwork. These materials are sourced for the individual project rather than kept as a standard stocked range.
Douglas Fir timbers
Douglas Fir is a common choice for exposed timber framing, beam headers, porch columns, ridge beams, mantels, and other large structural or architectural members. We can request large cross-sections such as 6x6, 6x8, 8x8, 6x12, 8x12, and larger, with length and surface confirmed for each project.
- Applications: Exposed ceiling beams, timber-frame post and beam, porch columns, ridge beams, headers, and mantels
- Grade: Select Structural, #1, and appearance-grade options may be requested
- Finish Options: Green (unseasoned), kiln-dried, rough-sawn, or surfaced smooth

Niche Tropical Species
In addition to the specialty tropicals listed on our Other Tropicals page, we can request commercially available tropical hardwoods for projects that need a particular color, grain, or performance profile. Examples include:
- Teak (Tectona grandis): Often considered for marine work, outdoor furniture, and wet-area details. Source and grade are confirmed with the request.
- Sapele: African hardwood with a rich, deep reddish-brown color and distinctive ribbon-stripe grain. Used for high-end doors, entry surrounds, and architectural millwork.
- Santos Mahogany: Dense, hard, and deep red-brown. An excellent substitute for genuine Honduran Mahogany, which is now heavily restricted.
- Bloodwood: Intense, vivid red heartwood used for accent inlays, turning blanks, and decorative features.
Reclaimed & Antique Heart Pine
Antique heart pine is reclaimed from older mills, warehouses, barns, and industrial buildings. It can bring tight grain, original saw marks, nail holes, oxidation, and other character that new lumber will not reproduce. Each source is different, so dimensions, condition, and usable quantity must be reviewed project by project.
- Flooring: Reclaimed heart pine flooring with original patina, nail holes, and character marks preserved. A true one-of-a-kind floor.
- Beams & Timbers: Salvaged structural timbers for exposed beam applications. Hand-hewn and rough-sawn textures available.
- Boards & Planks: Resawn from large reclaimed timbers for paneling, accent walls, and custom millwork.
- Character: Saw marks, weathering, oxidation, and previous use create an authentic surface with variation from piece to piece.
Sourcing Reclaimed Material
Reclaimed lumber availability depends on what becomes available through the salvage market. Engage us early if the design depends on a particular species, quantity, width, or patina so there is time to locate and review the material.
Custom Milling
We can coordinate custom milling for specialty species and reclaimed material when the source supports it. Send a drawing, profile sample, dimensions, target thickness, and quantity for non-standard T&G, molding, resawn boards, or other custom work.
